2014 Spring Newsletter for Kinship House

Spring Happenings at Kinship House

2014 Starting With a Bang

We have had a busy first quarter here at Kinship House.

The construction of the Little House is complete and has been in use for several weeks, in fact it is hosting an art show for some of our young clients and their families this evening. The Little House is easing the space constraints of our overly full office. We are now moving forward with the second phase of the backyard improvement plan, adding a covered sporting area sponsored by a grant from the OCF- Nike Employee Fund.

Thanks in large part to our donors and foundation supporters we will be able to add an additional therapist to our team later this spring, and a bilingual Spanish speaking clinician at that. With 10 therapists on staff we expect that Kinship House will come close to serving 550 children and their families on their way to permanency in 2014.

Kinship House is continuing to stretch outward into the community, trying to reach more of the people needing our services. Our partnerships with Letty Owings and Bradley Angle continue to evolve to best serve each agency and our mutual clients. This year we are hoping to expand a pilot project with Bridge Meadows to include more therapy hours and an on-site Community Liaison helping to ensure the longevity of adoptions out of foster care.

Thanks to each and every one of you for making this possible.

Heather Jefferis, Executive Director

PS: Our 3rd annual Our Kin Mini Golf event is coming up on July 12th. Keep an eye out for more details coming soon!

A warm welcome to our new Intake Coordinator, Drew Yoder.
