Just a few months ago, Kinship House finished up renovations for our new art therapy space in one of our houses in northeast Portland. The space will be used for sessions with our teen clients who will use quality art supplies to create works of art expressing their experiences in a therapeutic way.
We couldn’t have done the project without the generous support of the Boeing Employee Community Foundation who awarded Kinship House with a $5,000 gift for the remodel and RE/MAX Equity Group Foundation for a $1,000 gift to purchase art therapy tools for the space.
We also give a big shout out of thanks to Irving Restoration, our contractor who beautifully rebuilt the space making it a lovely area for our teens to do their therapeutic artwork. Mark and his whole team were fantastic in finishing the project in the way we envisioned it to be, working with us on all the details. We later worked with the company on some other repairs and improvements at our agency. They worked on a chronic leak in the basement and cleaned out our gutters. If you are planning some home improvements, visit their website to learn more about their services.
Thanks to companies like these for supporting Kinship House in our work to provide mental healthcare for foster and adopted children!
