Our kids, our hearts: it’s how we champion the future!
Every year, more than 3,000 Portland-area children transition through foster care and adoption services. The process of fitting into a new home is emotionally straining on kids, who have a limited support network, and have endured physical or mental abuse, neglect, or trauma. Without the support and outlet that therapy provides, many of these children find it difficult to move out of social services and establish healthy relationships.
Since 1996, Kinship House has nurtured children and families with outpatient mental-health services during the transition through foster care and adoption.
With the help of our expert clinicians, who take a one-on-one, personalized approach to each case, 98% of the children Kinship House serves – who are in the adoption process – successfully transition out of state care into adoption. An average of 500 children and families received outpatient mental-health services at Kinship House on an annual basis, creating lasting familial bonds and future stability.
You can help the Kinship kids by providing your financial support today. You can make a one-time donation, or a sustaining donation, to ensure that no child is turned away. Thank you for your support!
