Volunteer Spotlight: Wade Hopkins

Our board members dedicate hours of volunteer time to lead our organization. Wade Hopkins joined the Kinship House board three years ago in June 2014. In his role as a board member, he serves as our Board Chair and sits on our Executive Committee

Wade received his BS in finance from the Portland State University. He went on to complete a Masters of Business Administrations from Willamette University. Wade has been teaching Business and Information Technology for the past 15 years to a diverse population of secondary and post-secondary students. During that time he has been recognized for his commitment to student success and innovative teaching. Currently, Wade is doing STEM curriculum development and teaching to young people at Portland Youthbuilders to become self-sufficient, contributing members of the workforce and their community.

In his free time, Wade enjoys gardening, baking, and playing board games.
One of his fond childhood memories is climbing through all the decaying classic cars on his grandfather’s property in Puyallup, Washington. The cars from the thirties and forties were covered in brambles and blackberries. He and his cousins would imagine all sorts of adventures from inside and outside of those rusting hulks.

Thank you, Wade, for all that you do for Kinship House!
