Kinship House provides comprehensive outpatient therapy and advocacy for children experiencing foster care and adoption.
Over 11,000 children were removed from their families and placed in foster care in Oregon last year. Each of these 11,000 children experienced their own unique story of trauma, neglect, abuse, and mistrust. At Kinship House, we aim to bring health and joy back into the lives of children — both allowing them to just be kids today, while providing them with health and stability for the future.
Our purpose is to decrease the impact of past trauma on children, helping them bond with safe adults in their lives, and ultimately leading them to healthy, successful, stable futures.

For over twenty years, our low-barrier supports have been a key intervention in the pathway to children building permanency and stability for a healthy, vibrant future. Since day one we have provided services to all children and families, regardless of ability to pay and length of services required, and we’ve done so out of a house. By creating a consistent, home-like environment we embody our trauma-informed approach from the moment a child turns the door knob.
In 1996, five therapists and a state child welfare manager identified the pressing need in our community to empower children in foster care in a way that did not yet exist. Today, our programming has grown to a 20+ person staff, fills 4 distinct sites, collaborates with countless community partners, and serves over 500 children annually. Much has changed over the years, what has not changed is Kinship House’s dedication to bringing health and joy back into the lives of each child that walks through our door.
Our Sites & Service Partners
Our community service partners include mission-aligned organizations serving the same population in different capacities. Through collaboration we are able to streamline supports, reduce delays in accessing mental health treatment, and enhance the continuum of care provided to children in our region.

Bridge Meadows - Beaverton | Kinship House has two therapists on site at Bridge Meadows in Beaverton to provide both individual and family therapy as well as community support. Therapy at this location is offered to both residents of Bridge Meadows, as well as other children and families in the area.
